How to use Aster.
From your first scan to a considered cleanup. Watch the 78-second walkthrough.

Install and open.
Download the DMG, open it and drag Aster to Applications. Launch Aster from there. Activate with the license key from your purchase email before using the app.

Choose what to scan.
Click Scan folder, select a folder and confirm. Explore the storage map; larger blocks use more space. Double-click a folder to look inside.
- 03
Find and inspect.
Open Large files. Sort by Largest first, filter by size or search a name or path. Select an item, check its location and choose Add to cleanup.
- 04
Review before you act.
Open Cleanup and remove anything you want to keep from the queue. Choose Review for Trash, check the exact paths, then continue and confirm only the items you want to move.
Aster never empties Trash automatically. Moving files to Trash does not reclaim their space until you empty it yourself. Scan access depends on your macOS permissions.

Is there a free version or subscription?
No. Aster 0.5.0 requires a paid Pro license for all features. Pay ₹199 in India or US$5 elsewhere once for one active Mac. Downloading the installer does not unlock the app. Earlier free releases remain separate; this purchase covers the current paid version.
Can I use Aster offline or move my license?
Activate online first. A successful check allows up to seven days of offline use. Aster checks on launch, when returning to the app and periodically. After the grace period, features lock until verification succeeds. Deactivate on your old Mac before activating on another. Contact support if your old Mac is unavailable.
Does Aster delete files automatically?
No. You select items, review them and confirm before Aster moves them to macOS Trash. Aster never empties Trash automatically. Some apps need their own uninstallers, and possible leftovers always deserve a closer look.
Does my file information leave my Mac?
File names, paths and scan results stay on your Mac. Activation sends your license key and a random activation name to Dodo Payments. Periodic checks send the key and activation ID; file contents are not sent. Read the privacy policy for more detail.
Will Aster access every folder?
Access depends on the permissions you grant in macOS. Some locations may require Full Disk Access. Aster doesn’t bypass macOS protections, and a scan may skip locations it can’t access.
Which Macs are supported?
Aster supports Macs running macOS 14 or later. The same download includes both Intel and Apple Silicon support; macOS automatically runs the right version for your Mac.
How do I install Aster?
Download the DMG, open it, and drag Aster into Applications. Then open Aster from Applications. Version 0.5.0 is signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
