App privacy: Data Not Collected. File processing happens on your Mac. Email you choose to send and requests to this website are described separately below.
Local file processing
Findermax reads names, paths, sizes, dates, available download-origin metadata and supported file text to provide search, previews, project links and cleanup suggestions. Apple Vision processes supported images locally for text recognition and visual similarity.
The Mac App Store edition does not send your file contents, queries, index, Vault contents or Vault password to the developer. It has no app account, external activation, advertising, analytics SDK, remote model provider or built-in content upload service.
What is saved on your Mac
The local app data directory contains the search index, folder-access bookmarks, preferences, saved queries, project membership and action receipts. The directory is shown in Privacy & access. Receipts may include file paths and hashes. The ordinary index and preferences are not encrypted by Findermax; macOS account protections and device encryption provide separate protection.
Vault stores separately encrypted file copies and names. Findermax does not save its password, and the developer cannot recover it. Importing leaves originals in place. Exports are unencrypted. Original files, earlier index entries, Trash, exports and backups outside Vault are not protected by Vault encryption.
Your controls
Remove a connected folder in Privacy & access to stop its future library and shared-cleanup access and remove its indexed records. Historical receipts, saved queries and project references may retain paths until associated local app data is removed. Resetting the index clears indexed metadata and text while retaining originals, permissions, projects, settings, receipts and Vault data. Pause suspends current indexing; removing a folder is the lasting access control.
Local app data remains until you remove it. Removing only the application may preserve its container. Before deleting app data, export needed Vault files or back up the complete locked Vault directory and keep the password. Deleting its only copy can make files unrecoverable. Backups, snapshots and other copies are outside Findermax’s deletion control.
Cleanup requires review and confirmation and moves eligible selected items to Trash. It does not empty Trash. Recovery depends on the items still being in Trash; Finder may be needed to restore them.
Apple and other applications
Apple handles app purchase and distribution. Apple may process purchase, App Store and diagnostic information according to your settings and Apple’s privacy policy.
Selected folders may already be synchronized by iCloud or another provider. Opening a file, website or support-email link hands control to another application with its own data practices.
This website and support messages
These Findermax pages on buildmeai.co do not load analytics, visitor counters, advertising, tracking cookies or remote fonts. The web server and hosting provider may process routine request details such as IP address, browser information, requested URL and time to serve, maintain and secure the site. Other BuildMeAI product pages may use separately disclosed visitor counters.
If you email support, Shivam Rohilla receives the contact details and information you send and uses them to answer your request. Email is handled through the email service involved. Avoid sending passwords, payment details, private documents or unredacted file paths unless necessary. Support information is not sold or used for advertising.
You can request deletion of support correspondence by email. Records needed to resolve your request or meet applicable obligations may be retained. Routine hosting records may remain under the hosting service’s retention and security practices.
