Who we are
Zuno is an independently developed Mac app by Shivam Rohilla under BuildMeAI. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean the developer operating Zuno and BuildMeAI. It covers the Zuno app, its landing page, downloads, licensing and support.

Files and local processing
You choose the folders Zuno can access through macOS. Zuno reads files in those locations to build a searchable library, generate previews, group downloads, show possible duplicates and cleanup candidates, and maintain project links. Search, supported text extraction and image OCR run on your Mac. The current app does not send your search queries or file contents to a cloud AI service.
The local index can contain filenames, full paths, file types, sizes and dates; supported extracted document text and image text; checksums; and download-source information, including a full source URL when available. Download sources come from metadata saved with the file. They do not connect Zuno to your Canva, ChatGPT or other accounts.
Local preferences can contain folder-access bookmarks, saved searches, project names and file links, and appearance settings. Local action records can contain paths, hashes, timestamps and outcomes of file actions. These support the app’s library, review and history features.
The ordinary search index, preferences and action history are not application-encrypted. Protect access to your Mac and its backups. Zuno does not upload your library, indexed content or Vault contents to BuildMeAI for file processing or licensing.
Vault copies
Vault encrypts imported copies of regular files and their filenames using the password you choose. Its password and unlocked encryption key are not persistently stored by the app. We cannot recover a forgotten Vault password.
Original files stay in their folders and are not protected by importing a copy into Vault. Exporting creates a decrypted file at the destination you choose. Originals, exports and the ordinary search index remain outside Vault protection. Backups may retain earlier local data; Vault does not encrypt your whole Mac or its backups.
Purchases and license checks
Purchases and license services use Dodo Payments. Checkout may collect information needed to complete an order, such as your name, email address, billing details and payment information. Payment-card entry takes place with the payment provider, rather than in a Zuno website form. We may receive order, customer and license information made available to us for purchase administration and support.
When you activate Zuno, the app sends the license key and a generic activation name, “Zuno on Mac”, to Dodo. Validation and deactivation send the license key and its activation identifier. Network requests also expose normal connection information, such as your IP address, to the provider. The current activation request does not include your Mac’s hostname or hardware UUID.
License credentials and validation information are stored locally in macOS Keychain. Internet is required for activation and periodic license checks; the current policy has no offline grace period.
Dodo describes its own processing in its privacy policy and buyer terms.
Website visits and downloads
The Zuno landing page uses a first-party visitor estimate at /api/zuno/visitors, separate from the shared BuildMeAI counter. When the landing page is visible and JavaScript is enabled, our server uses the connection IP to create a pseudonymous identifier with a secret-key hash (HMAC-SHA-256). The counter database stores the identifier, not the raw IP address. Its independent key prevents it from reusing identifiers from the shared counter.
We retain these identifiers and the counter key while the counter is in use so repeat visits from the same IP count once. The counter has no automatic expiry. Its records do not contain browsing histories, per-visit timestamps or cookies. The public API exposes the aggregate total, counting start date and counter labels. Stored visitor identifiers are not exposed. Shared networks can count as one visitor, while changing IPs or VPNs can count again. The displayed figure is an estimate, not a count of app users, installations or people currently online.
The privacy, terms and contact pages do not load the visitor-counter script. The Zuno pages have no third-party analytics or advertising trackers. The appearance switch saves your light/dark preference in your browser’s local storage; you can remove it by clearing this site’s stored data.
Loading a page or downloading the installer sends normal connection and request information to our hosting service. Hosting and security systems may keep operational logs. External services you choose to open, including checkout, have their own privacy practices.
Support and diagnostics
If you email shivamrohillaa@gmail.com, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use this information to answer questions, investigate problems and handle purchase or privacy requests. Our email provider processes messages to deliver and store them.
The current app does not include an app analytics or automatic crash-upload service. Local records or diagnostics may include file paths and other information from your Mac. Before sharing a screenshot or log, remove unrelated personal information. Do not send Vault passwords, full license keys or payment-card details.
Retention and your choices
Local app data remains on your Mac until you remove it or use an available app control that removes it. Removing a connected folder removes its access grant and indexed rows, but references in saved searches, projects or action history may remain. Resetting the index does not erase settings, folder permissions or action history; connected folders can be indexed again. Deleting the app alone may leave its support files and Keychain credentials behind.
We retain support and order-related information for as long as needed to address your request, administer purchases, prevent abuse or meet legal recordkeeping obligations. Provider-held information is also subject to the provider’s retention practices. We do not sell your personal information.
Depending on the laws that apply to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, request portability, withdraw consent where processing relies on it, or complain to a data-protection authority. Contact us to make a request. We may ask for limited information to verify it. We cannot remotely access or erase the files and local index held on your Mac.
Processing supports the service you request, legitimate operational and security needs, and legal obligations, as applicable. Where consent is required for a particular activity, it will be requested. Our hosting, payment and email providers may process information in other countries under their own safeguards and policies.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page and its date when these practices change. Material changes will be explained before an affected new feature or service is introduced. This page describes the current Zuno app; it does not promise that proposed or future features are already available.
